Cultural Experience

International students are invited to attend our high schools for shorter-term placements ranging from two months to one year. These placements focus on the Canadian experience and are ideal for students seeking to improve their English-language skills. Students receive credit for academic coursework but do not remain in Canada long enough to graduate. Living and learning in the world-famous Rocky Mountains is a huge attraction for students in our program.

Graduation Program

International students studying in School District No. 6 earn credits for applicable classes towards the British Columbia Certificate of Graduation (the globally-recognized Dogwood Diploma). Earning the required number of Grade 10 - 12 credits usually takes between two and three years. For more information, please visit the link below.

Group Programs (short-term)

School District No. 6 hosts several groups of international students from partner schools every year. These students arrive in groups ranging in size from 10 - 20 students and generally stay for 1 - 4 weeks. Programs are custom designed to meet the needs of the partner school and may include a mix of ESL instruction, regular classes and extra-curricular activities and trips.

Student Exchanges

Canadian students in School District No. 6 participate in exchanges with students from countries around the world every year. Programs range in size from single student exchanges to small groups programs and range in length from a few weeks to an entire school year. Exchanges may be arranged from within the district or through organizations like Rotary International.
