I am very excited to be working as the Manager, International Education in the Rocky Mountain School District. I have just moved to Kimberley and am really looking forward to discovering my new town and all that the Kootenays have to offer, just like our International students!
I have been working in International Education for the past 10 years and am looking forward to bringing my experience and expertise to the RMISP and to working with the great team they have there. Hopefully I‘ll run into you out skiing, biking or hiking in this beautiful part of BC.
Revelstoke, Golden, Invermere (North)
I’ve enjoyed living in Golden since 2003 and what I love most about this town are the friendly people and the outdoor recreational opportunities. Golden has one of the best ski resorts in Canada, an amazing network of mountain bike trails and beautiful views of the Purcell and Rocky Mountains. Since working for RMISP as homestay coordinator in 2008, I have been able to share this amazing place with students from all over the world. It’s such a rewarding experience when students get excited trying something new like dogsledding or skiing in 40cm of powder. I love it when they tell me that living in Canada has been the best experience of their life. Now that I’m the program coordinator for Golden, Revelstoke and Invermere, I’ll have 2 more awesome towns to share great adventures in with our students and homestay coordinators!

Kimberley, Cranbrook, Fernie, Sparwood (South)
I was born and raised in Austria and had the opportunity to live in many beautiful places in England, France, the USA and Canada. However, none are comparable to the beautiful Canadian Rockies! Cranbrook has been my home for the past 10 years, and I love the open-mindedness of the residents and the vast variety of recreational activities that are available here. I've had the privilege of working with international students for the past 10 years in my position as Homestay Coordinator and truly enjoy meeting all these amazing teenagers from around the world that come to Cranbrook to have the time of their life. I'm looking forward to working with students throughout the South Region of RMISP in my new role as International Student Program Coordinator.

Short-Term Program Coordinator (Summer/Winter)
I was born and raised in Northern Ontario, Canada and lived in South Africa from 2000 to 2004, but nothing feels more like home than the Rocky Mountains. I have lived in Kimberley for 13 years and, from day one, fell in love with the natural beauty, friendly people, and slow pace of life in the RMISP region. I have been involved with RMISP for the past 10 years as a host mom, Homestay Coordinator, and now as the Short-Term Program Coordinator. As part of the Rocky Mountain International Student Program I have the privilege of working with an amazing team of individuals and I have always enjoyed the interactions with students from all over the world, and love sharing this beautiful part of the world with them. I am pleased to now be a part of the short-term programs, which allow students a fun-filled, inspiring education experience.
After living in several mountain towns in Canada for over 10 years, I can honestly say that Revelstoke is the complete package! Hot in the summer, lots of snow in the winter and a warm and welcoming community with lots of active, healthy people. The views are breathtaking and combine the scenery of surrounding mountains with the Columbia and Illecillewaet rivers. We are tucked away from the bustle of bigger cities but have everything you need here, especially if you love the outdoors! My favourite activities are mountain biking, cross country skiing and hiking. I've been with RMISP since May 2014 and am excited to help students experience this amazing and professionally-run program in Revelstoke.

I'm so excited to joining the RMISP team in Cranbrook after a year as the homestay coordinator in Golden! I've been a host parent since 2012. I have loved getting to know my students and learning about their cultures. One of my favourite things as host parent has been hearing about all their amazing adventures with RMISP -- from whitewater rafting and dogsledding in Golden to NHL games in Calgary and shopping at West Edmonton Mall (North America's second largest mall). Now I get to join in the fun and I can't wait! I'll be the one with the camera (I love photography almost as much as I love travelling).
I started working with RMISP in 2007. It’s been an amazing ride! Awesome kids, an awesome community and awesome school support makes this a dream job. I love everything about living in the Columbia Valley where Invermere is located; there are so many things to do outdoors all year long, I particularly love to fish in all the freshwater lakes. I'm not very good at it but I love being outside in the mountains!

I am honoured to be the Homestay Coordinator for Kimberley and a member of the Rocky Mountain International Student Program team. I am a lifelong learner who has spent over 30 years working with youth, as an educator, coach and event coordinator, locally, nationally and internationally. I look forward to working with and learning from international students who have so much to offer to our communities. My wife and I moved to Kimberley three years ago and fell in love with this beautiful city, the outdoors and the amazing Purcell Mountains. From hiking to cycling and climbing to skiing, Kimberley has many experiences to offer all ages. I am excited to be part of this vibrant organization and to see students grow, experience new adventures, and create new friendships.
Please contact me for more information about RMISP and a Kimberley experience.
I am so happy to be a Homestay Coordinator for Fernie and Sparwood. I was born and raised in Fernie and left for a few years. In 1991 my husband and I had the opportunity to move back to Fernie (we actually live in a little community called Hosmer, about halfway between Fernie and Sparwood) and we couldn’t be happier to be back! I found that I really missed the area and the laid-back friendly lifestyle here. I love the fact that the mountains are right in your backyard. I enjoy fishing, quading, camping and love to scrapbook all of our adventures. I am passionate about international education and have previously been involved in exchange programming as host parent. My two oldest sons participated in exchanges for one year (one to Germany and one to Brazil) and both had amazing experiences and said it was the best year of their life. I am excited to be part of that experience for international students coming to Fernie and Sparwood!
If you have any questions about the amazing experiences here in Fernie and Sparwood, please contact me by email, Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
Joining the international student program as a Homestay Coordinator is an amazing opportunity to share with others two of my biggest passions: the outdoors and languages. I was born in Brazil to a family that is half French and half Uruguayan. I have lived and worked in Brazil, Uruguay, France, Chile, the United States, and Canada. In 2014, Golden became my home. It is a great joy to welcome students and share the vibrant wilderness and close-knit community that makes our town truly "Golden".

International Education Secretary
I love my job with RMISP! I have enjoyed my role as administrative support for this professionally run program over the last two years. Having grown up in Kimberley and raising my family here, I know how fortunate we are to live in such a beautiful part of Canada. There is so much to do and see in our part of the world and I am proud to be part of a team that strives to provide the best study-abroad experience for every student.
