The Rocky Mountain International Student Program sponsors a wide variety of activities, events and trips for participating students. The schedule has been carefully planned to ensure a complete cultural and recreational experience for participating students. Download a printable PDF here. The schedule is subject to change.

September Rafting Activity

River rafting, scenic float, canoeing or other waterfront activity (weather permitting)
October City Sightseeing Trip

Overnight trip to Calgary with a visit to Lake Louise
November Curling Activity

Learn to curl at the local rink - instruction, gear and snacks provided
December Ski & Snowboard Day

Hit the slopes for a day of skiing or snowboarding - includes lesson, rental and lift ticket
January Winter Sport Activity

Cross-country skiing, fat biking, snowshoeing or other local activity
February Ski & Snowboard Day

Another ski/snowboard day at a nearby resort - includes lesson, rental and lift ticket
March Hot Springs Trip

Warm up during the last weeks of winter in the local hot springs pool
April Golfing Activity

Kick off Spring with a fun golf event and dinner!
May Adventure Activity

A day of fun at Golden Skybridge adventure park
June Farewell Games

End-of-year Amazing Race competitions are organized in every community
Optional Spring Break Trip to Vancouver

5-Day Vancouver Tour
March 2026

RMISP is offering an optional 5-day trip to Vancouver (tentatively March 22-26, 2026). This is an exciting opportunity to see another part of beautiful British Columbia and get away with your friends during Spring Break.
Monday, March 23: Grouse Mountain tour and activities, Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. Group lunch included.
Tuesday, March 24: Stanley Park, FlyOver Canada, Canada Place, free time at Pacific Centre and Robson Street, walking tour of Gastown. Group dinner included.
Wednesday, March 25: University of British Columbia tour, Museum of Anthropology, free time at Granville Island and Metrotown.
Thursday, March 26: Free breakfast at hotel, check out, arrive at Vancouver Airport for departure.
** We suggest bringing $20-$25 for each lunch and $25-$30 for each dinner that are not included in the itinerary.
The trip fee includes roundtrip airfare from Cranbrook or Kelowna, ground transportation, chaperones, 4 nights hotel (quad occupancy), daily breakfasts, some group dinners and some activities like FlyOver Canada, UBC's Museum of Anthropology, and Capilano Suspension Bridge. We will also visit Canada Place, Stanley Park, Granville Island and Metrotown Mall, Vancouver's largest mall.

- A minimum of 20 students is required to run this trip.
- Spaces are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Your space is not secured until your deposit payment has been paid.
- More information will be provided at Student Orientation and at weekly lunch meetings.
